False eyelashes are used extensvely when applying make up for fashion photography and cat walk modelling.

* COLDS/HAYFEVER

* LARGE GAPS IN NATURAL LASHES - nothing to adhere to

In recent times eye lashes has become as essential as beautiful nails, white teeth and plumped up lips.

Lashes are quick, glamorous, dramatic and affordable. They come in a variety of different colours, sizes and shapes.

Eye Lash Application

A good pair of good tweezers will come in handy. Hold the lashes in the middle to help align lashes and apply adhesive.

After removing lashes from plastic holding tray, hold it at both ends flexing and bending a few times. Take note which lash is for left eye and which is for the right. Bring lash to eyelid and line up along the lid as close to your natural eyelashes as possible. Press into place and check if the lash is to long. Remove and trim off excess from the outside edge. Apply a thin coat of lash adhesive to the edge of the lash. (Don't apply to much) You can use a orange wood stick, toothpick or matchstick to spread the adhesive along the lash. Wait 30 seconds to allow the adhesive to become tacky then apply to lash remembering to get as close to your natural eyelash as possible. The white/grey coloured adhesive will dry clear. The adhesive will be dry in a few minutes.

Tips %26amp; Tricks

Eyelash curlers may be used with extra care after you have applied your lashes and the adhesive is dry.

Apply all your make up first and a slick of eyeliner which will help to hide the strip lash, you don't want the skin to show between the lash strip and your natural lashes.

How long will your lashes last depends on you. Don't sleep in strip lashes. Remove lashes and adhesive residue which should just peel away and put lashes back on the plastic platform which helps them maintain their shape.

Clean your lashes gently with non-oily eye make-up remover. Cleaning them after each use and storing them on the plastic shaped platform they will last longer.

To mascara or not is entirely up to you. If you decided to wear mascara apply it after you have applied your lashes to help blend your faux lash with your natural ones. I apply mascara to help blend the lashes and it gives more staying power = more confidence.

Finally when you apply lashes use a mirror on a table rather than positioned on a wall and keep your eyes open or you may glue your lashes together.

PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE - Find your style for day and evening.

Tip: Put your make on first. if you are new to false eyelashes use eyeliner and apply first. If you don't get the false lashes close enough to your own lashes this will hide the gap.
Apply all of your makeup including a thin line of eyeliner at the lashline so that if you aren't able to completely lay the strip at the lashline, the line will cover it up.

As stated above, apply mascara before applying the lashes if you plan on re-using them.
Do your makeup first, even put the mascara first, the last thing should be to apply the falsies, so you can reuse them a few times.

Do your eye shadow first and then put them on. I always use a pair of tweezers. Wait a few minutes for the glue to dry and then put mascara on as you would normally. This helps to bond them and makes them look more realistic.
